my last issue on here was so violently personal that it sent me into a hiatus, but now i’m back with some behind-the-scenes content!!! one of the big conundrums for creators is trying to decide what to post, and how i deal with it is by over-compensating and churn out many many ideas, most of which never fully come into fruition and some of which end up on my instagram. so when i got comments on one of my recent posts asking for a draft version, i was inspired to just share with y’all everything (or almost everything) i’ve thought up / half-completed. let’s dive in
BACK TO THE BEGINNING
ah, good ol’ canva. sometimes i honestly miss the simplicity of using it (and how quickly you can get stuff done on there), but anyways.
i posted very frequently in the early days, but somehow i still found time to experiment new styles.
i also played with alternate covers for stuff that i eventually posted. here are some of them:
the main reason behind why i didn’t implement these (even though i liked them a lot) was that i felt i would have to stick to the particular style for the rest of my posts. always thinking about aesthetics, always thinking about cohesiveness.
fun fact: i first created this cover in the middle of may 2022, half a year before i finally used this idea and the exact same photo as the cover for a collaboration post with the wonderful @motionsicknema_. probably the only time i’ve gone through with a concept that i left in the drafts for more than a week.
still don’t know whether i should make a post dissecting wes anderson’s style
was in the middle of my xavier dolan binge watch and wanted to do a ranking after finishing all his movies. to this day i’ve watched 5 out of his 8 films, and i’m not sure if i’m gonna watch the last three anytime soon.
i’m actually in love with this cover, i need to use this in the near future.
also – why am i finding fully completed posts just sitting in my drafts??? i have no recollection of finishing them 😭

EVOLVING
made these during my “new romantics” series envisioning what the next phase of the account might look like – i was obviously obsessed with textures. but i just didn’t get to them i guess, like with a lot of my more long-term design choices.
probably where the concept for my “a guide for…” posts started.
a completely different draft version for my “quick film thoughts” post from february this year. very time consuming and i was stressed over almost every element in this, so i swapped it with a much simpler format. i’m glad i switched out but honestly if i had the time i could’ve made this work.
ahh… finally, the blur has arrived. sorry for all those with bad eyesight (which includes me btw), but i love the current aesthetic of the page. 100% would have made this a post if i had come up with a design for the multiverse before taylor swift + joe alwyn and phoebe bridgers + paul mescal broke up 😭
inspiration after watching babylon. just couldn’t find enough dance scenes :(
inspiration after watching heartstone. iceland, oh iceland. i might do something with this idea in the near future, hopefully.
and as for the draft version for side characters i love, i wanted to add in the hefina and gang from pride (2014), lady jessica from dune, margaery from GOT (ULTIMATE mother)… you get the jist.
